Consider This: It’s All in the Past
By Steven Zhou

As we inch closer to the beginning of summer, whether you’re a 7th grader or a senior in high school, we look back and reminisce about another school year come and gone. For some, the memories of the past are filled with joyful experiences, while for others, there’s the taint of regret. Our experiences are history and, good or bad, they shape the people that we are today. Sydney Liu, a junior at Campolindo High, recognizes the influence of her past on her present: “I find that during the moment, I can feel proud, confused, hurt, or regretful, but now, years later, I look back without regrets. My past created my personality”.
Whether experiences have been positive or negative, the key is to learn from everything and move on. The former CEO of Yahoo, Carol Barts’ held a mantra of “fail, fast, forward”. This mentality is one we can all consider as we furiously travel through our teenage years towards college and adulthood. We may have experienced unparalleled success in scholastic ventures and extracurricular activities yet also suffered devastating disappointment in other areas. A good friend of mine was rejected from the one college he had dreamed of attending throughout his high school career. However, the setback actually guided him to a university he now loves even more. Looking back at the experience, one can truly appreciate the effect that our past has on molding our decisions, feelings, and thoughts in the present day.
Heidi Homma, a senior at Miramonte High School, looks at her own memories with satisfaction, saying that “due to taking risks and coming out of my comfort zone, sometimes I felt remorse, but they were all learning experiences that will remain in my memories always”. We grow and learn by involvement; without both the pleasure and the pain, we can never understand what it means to cherish every moment of life.
Lamorinda youth are invited to share how their school experiences have shaped them on Saturday, May 12th at the Moraga Fair as Express Yourself Teen Radio hosts LIVE recordings. (www.ExpressYourselfTeenRadio.com) This is a free opportunity for community teens to express to global listeners what the end of school or graduation means to them. For example, the current seniors on our Star Teen Radio team are feeling the aches of time flying by too quickly. We have been producing the show, now number one on the network, for over six months, yet it feels like yesterday when we were figuring out the basics of operating Skype, struggling through the bumps of human and technological challenges.
I readily admit that the nostalgia of the past few years has bitten me, especially as I prepare myself for graduation next month. The memories of 5th grade, middle school, and each of my high school years will continue to define my individuality and the way I make choices in the future.
Consider this. The wins, losses, triumphs, disappointments, laughter, and tears of school elections, games, awards, applications, relationships, etc., may all be in the past, but without them, there is no present.

Miramonte senior Steven Zhou is the administrator and host for the #1 YA global radio program, ExpressYourself!™ He has received a scholarship to attend Pepperdine University this Fall.

Express Yourself!™ delves into the creative world of art with renowned fine artist and computer games artist, Armand Cabrera from Virginia and Leslie Swartz, a California resident who began her art career in South Africa. Field reporters are Nicole Eubanks with an art infused Health Beat and Rachel Glass on how art can Make a Difference. Hosted by Steven Zhou and Jacqueline Tao, you’ll learn how art is within all of us.

Armand Cabrera was born in San Francisco. He recently moved to beautiful Northern Virginia where he enjoys the challenge of painting the 4 seasons. An award-winning, self-taught artist, Armand is a full time oil painter represented by galleries across the United States.
In addition to his Fine Art career, Armand has spent 2 decades as a successful production artist in the computer games and entertainment industry, creating conceptual designs, background art, and special effects animation and storyboarding. His clients include LucasFilm Games, Disney, Zynga, Electronic Arts, Virgin Entertainment, Nickelodeon, Microsoft and Paramount Pictures.
Armand has had numerous One-Man Exhibitions and his work is found in notable corporate and private collections around the world.

Leslie Swartz was raised in Oakland, California, went to university in Arkansas, and lived most of her adult life in countries in southern Africa. She taught in elementary schools for15 years during her years in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Leslie experienced the most satisfaction by instilling in her students an appreciation of creative expression through art. Leslie returned to California in 2003 and enjoys experimenting with different media, using photographs and observations for inspiration. Not wanting to be limited to one particular medium, Leslie uses oils, pastels, acrylics, pen, and graphite. Her subjects range from trees and elephants to garlic and motorbikes. Leslie’s work is exhibited at the Moraga Art Gallery.

May Day PLAY
A Message from Founder, CYNTHIA BRIAN
A research study titled “Americans’ Changing Lives” followed more than 3600 people for ten years to find that people of all ages who did community service through volunteering were happier, healthy, and less depressed than those who didn’t. Scientists discovered a physiological basis for the warm glow that accompanies giving. Scans showed that the brain structures activated by rewards are the same ones activated by giving. When you give time or money, feel good chemicals are released triggering a surge of physical energy. The dopamine pulse lights up the same pleasure source as eating or having sex. It’s clear that donating and volunteering help people feel good. When we give back, our focus is shifted outside of ourselves, giving your brain and body a break from despair.
I have always felt that giving is the paradox of life. The more we give, the more we get. When we help others, we help ourselves. For Mother’s Day, make a donation to Be the Star You Are!® and give both yourself and the great woman in the world the gift of happiness, health, and love.
Make sure to visit the Be the Star You Are!® Express Yourself!TM Teen Radio booth at the Moraga Faire on May 12 where our teens will host two live shows plus give community businesses the opportunity to lay down a 30 second commercial for a donation to the charity. Young people are invited to share their thoughts on their school years and upcoming summer vacation. If you make music or sing, come join the jam session.

If you haven’t heard of Draw Something then you are missing out. Download Draw Something to join over 50 million users who have a blast playing and connecting on this popular app.

Draw Something’s appeal is that it can be enjoyed by all ages. Part game, part art, plus social networking, this entertaining app allows users to select a word, draw an image for it, and challenge a friend to guess what the drawn word is.

If you are willing to put up with advertisements, Draw Something is free, otherwise you can purchase it without the ads for only 99 cents. After downloading, the first prompt is to sign in via your Facebook or email accounts and create a user name. You then design your game and invite friends on Facebook to play with. Your opponent is found via username, email, or by random searching. Draw Something supplies you with three words to start. If you don’t like your choices you have the option of selecting new words by tapping the “to draw” screen. When you are finished, send the pic to your friend to start “game on”. When your friend guesses correctly what you have drawn, you are both rewarded with coins. These coins can be used to purchase new market colors or bombs. The bombs are used to delete letters and thus assist in making it easier to guess new words.

Draw Something is a simple and creative game to enjoyed by family and friends. Draw Something is so fun, it’s addictive!

“As is the garden such is the gardener.” Francis Bacon

During my freshman and sophomore year at UCLA, one of my jobs was managing a popular health food store, Nature’s Health Cove, at the time a brand new concept in healthy eating. I vividly remember customers paying as much as ten times the price for small, worm-eaten apples, and limp, shriveled greens that had traveled hundreds of miles to be ingested by wealthy Beverly Hills residents on their new “organic” kick. I’m not sure anyone understood what ‘organic’ really meant as I repeated my script of “grown without synthetic pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers, colorants, or sewage sludge”. Genetically engineered had not yet been invented. But one thing was for sure…these early adapters had climbed onto the bandwagon to nutritious sowing and growing.

It wasn’t until the 1960’s that agriculture turned into agri-business with large corporations buying farms and science genetically modifying the seeds we plant. Before that time, farmers saved, exchanged, traded, and sold seeds that had been in their families for generations. (I still plant, harvest, save, gift, and sell heirloom Hollyhock seeds that are over 100 years old brought over on “the boat” by my grandparents from Italy.) Varieties that have been cultivated and passed down through the ages via human and natural selection are termed “heirlooms”. Most people believe that tomatoes are the only heirlooms when actually there are thousands of varieties of produce that are heirlooms including beets, cauliflower, squash, melons, beans, eggplants, peppers, lettuces, and flower specimens. (You’ve heard of heirloom roses, right?)

As a gardener, if you want to save seed from year to year, you need a glossary of understandable terms. To help you sow and grow, I have created a simple guide help you make informed decisions for buying, planting, and consuming.

Organic: “Certified organic” is a legal term that may be used only by growers who are in strict compliance with all the detailed rules and regulations of the USDA’s National Organic Program. In the United States, this means that the soil in which the crops are grown must not have had any prohibited substances in it for the three years prior to harvest. The operation must be managed according to an approved Organic System Plan and the parcel must be inspected by a USDA accredited certifier. The words I used in my college script to describe the meaning of “organic” while working at the health food store are still true today for anything deemed to be organic with the addition of “not genetically engineered.”

GMO: Genetically modified organisms are any plants produced through genetic modification either by engineering or long time plant breeding methods that could happen naturally. Even an organically grown plant that has been manipulated to improve production, quality, color, or performance, may be considered genetically modified because these changes could occur in nature. A great example of a popular GMO is the seedless watermelon.

GE: Although the terms GE and GMO are frequently used interchangeably in the media, their meanings are very different. GE refers to genetic engineering using high-tech methods that change the DNA of the plant in a way that would never occur without human intervention. GE plants are not found growing naturally. Big agri-business farms use corn, cotton, soybeans, and other crops that have been genetically engineered. The issues of GE food sources are controversial as the benefits or harm to our health have not been accurately quantified.

Cultivar: This is a variety of a plant that has been selected through cultivation. It maintains its characteristics through propagation. A cultivar can be either a hybrid or open-pollinated variety. In catalogs, when you see the genus and species listed with a Latin name and a common name, the cultivar is usually the common name. For example, Alstroemeria’s common name is Peruvian Lily.

Open-Pollinated: An open-pollinated plant breeds true from seed from the parent plant with the offspring having the exact characteristics. By allowing the natural flow of pollen between the same variety of different plants production happens. If your desire is to save pure seed, plant only one variety to prevent cross-pollination between different varieties.

Hybrids: Like a car that uses both gas and electricity, when you cross different varieties of plants, you get a hybrid. Because of population density, it is more difficult than ever to grow a garden with seed purity. Wind, insects, neighbors, dogs all contribute to occasional contamination. If you want heirlooms, buy seeds from a reputable source and grow them in a greenhouse.
Heirlooms: Generally defined, heirlooms are the result of natural selection in open-pollinated varieties. Depending on the source, an arbitrary age marker for an heirloom is fifty years or developed prior to the 1950’s. Before the population explosion, heirlooms did pass down from family to family, farmer to farmer. Today, the majority of heirloom seeds and plants are propagated by commercial companies who are dedicated to preservation of plant purity.

Personally, I am nervous about GE experimentation. My land is a sacred temple for my family and it’s my responsibility to protect and nurture it. A non-profit organization, The Council for Responsible Genetics, has a mission to educate the general public about advocating for socially responsible use of new genetic technologies. Growers who wish to not indulge in GE sowing sign a Safe Seed Pledge to not buy or sell genetically engineered seeds.

With all the seed choices in the marketplace, it behooves every gardener to take a few minutes to understand the terminology of modern growing practices. If we are what we eat, we definitely want to make sure that we cultivate the healthiest choices for our human homes. Know, sow, grow!

Let your creativity blossom this spring while you indulge in strolling in secret gardens and sampling exotic specimens. It’s May, the season of play.

Happy Gardening to You!

Social Stereotypes–Don’t Judge the Book by Its Cover
By Arianna Tong

Cheerleaders, jocks, nerds, you name the label…high school has a reputation for stereotypes. Social stereotypes impact the collective atmosphere creating an unjust social system.
A social hierarchy produces a reputation for individuals before we ever meet them. By “judging the book by its cover”, we miss opportunities to encounter individuals different from ourselves who could be very interesting and influential. Stereotyping ignites a chain reaction, similar to fireworks. The net effect is an assumption based on the label plus a judgment with limited knowledge without personal interaction.
Why do we teenagers have the need to misjudge and misinterpret one another simply based on reputation or looks?
“I would define social stereotypes as a mental organization of people that I use to determine who I might or might not be comfortable with,” says Miramonte senior, Arjang Asadi. “Social stereotypes define the hierarchy at our school, at any school in fact. It’s like how economic indicators define an economic hierarchy.” Campolindo sophomore, Hannah Grubs added her thoughts. “I think social stereotypes are the way people frame other people by who they hang out with or how they act. It’s not just teenagers who do it. I did when I was five and I will probably do it when I’m older. It’s a bad habit I have and need to work on,” commented Grubs.
Christina Cisneros, a soccer player and sophomore at Acalanes feels there are cliques at her high school. “People with similar interests spend time together. For example, students on teams tend to eat together. If you are on the baseball team, you sit with you’re your players. Drama club members seek out their fellow actors. People have opinions about who is cool and who is not. Those choices don’t affect me. I don’t have lunch with my soccer team. I eat with my friends who are on the lacrosse team.” Stereotyping and cliques are two sides of the same card.
In the end, no matter where we go, or whom we encounter, social stereotypes play a large role in our lives as high school students. Whether it is the jock that sits next to you in physics, or that band geek in your PE class, instead of judging by first glance, open the book to get to know the person. Stereotyping stigmatizes. Cliques exclude. Anyone can be cool when given a chance.

A Lavish Buffet of Delicious Excess

5 STARS

The names Romanov, Rasputin, Russia, and revolution are synonymous with political upheaval, warfare, poverty, and prophecy during the first part of the 20th century. For those who are fans of history, mystery, and magic, Author Dora Levy Mossanen’s latest novel, The Last Romanov, is a luxurious romp through the palaces and extravagances of the last Tsar set against the heart-wrenching scarcity of life as a peasant.

Ms. Mossanen weaves together a tapestry of poetic prose that launches the reader on a journey of historical significance and imaginative invention. From the first mention of wild aurochs in the ancient forest to the fluttering butterflies of the opal-eyed Darya with her necklace of perfumed ambergris to the swaying hips of the intoxicating exotic dancer, Jasmine, you will be catapulted into a world of opulence and indulgence where distinguishing facts from fiction is work for detectives.

Brilliantly captured in words, each character is fully developed and presented with authenticity and flair. Great care was taken in researching the royal family, their extravagant lifestyle, their palaces, gardens, friends, and enemies. The manner in which author Dora Mossanen depicted the deep love between the Tsar Nicholas and his German bride coupled with their devotion to their offspring is heart connecting, making one mourn the fate we know is chronicled in history books. Yet, at the same time, we are repelled by the blatant hatred and persecution of the Jews as well as the blindness to the plight of the population at large suffering hunger and thirst while the royals feasted on Beluga caviar and expensive vodka. With the Romanov’s refusal to acknowledge the tumultuous unrest of the populace and their all consuming desire to heal their ailing son at any cost, it is no surprise that the drunken, sex depraved mystic, Rasputin, powered the downfall of their dynasty.

Dora Levy Mossanen is an enchanting and thrilling storyteller. She delivers a rich banquet of love, romance, deceit, despair, denial, myth, and prophecy spiced by the existing evolution of the simmering Bolshevik Revolution. The Last Romanov is a feast of gargantuan proportions, utterly satisfying until the final sentence when you will utter, “More please!”

Review by Cynthia Brian
5 STARS

Purpose Plus Passion Plus Provocation Equals Movement

If you wanted to launch a movement, how would you start? Who would you turn to and where would you go? Having interviewed the guru of cultural movement marketing on my radio program, I’ll share the simplest short cut to success with you. Buy the innovative, revolutionary book, Uprising, by author Scott Goodson, Founder and CEO of the global movement-marketing agency, StrawberryFrog to jumpstart your brand building.

In Uprising, Scott supplies ample examples with first hand knowledge of how individuals and companies can change the world for the better and make a difference by uniting like minds to common causes. Uprising shows us how the days of hard sell commercials and Madison Avenue slick advertisements have shifted to creating purpose based internal cultures that align with outside community concerns. When conversations are ignited around a powerful idea, outspoken advocates are recruited to amplify the mass communications. Between word-of-mouth interactions, social media, technology, and product placement, sustainable, passionate movements are born inspiring others to get on board and make things happen. Think Occupy.

Scott knows what he writes about. His company, StrawberryFrog, was the world’s first cultural movement agency, with operations globally. He and his team shepherded the brand building of SmartCar, Pampers, Jim Beam, India’s Mahindra Group, and many others through movement marketing.

As Scott writes in Uprising, “you don’t have to overthrow a government to be part of a movement” but you do need to believe in the evolution of revolution. Uprising’s movements don’t have identifiable leaders, but they do have physical world presence, not just avatars. A compelling idea rooted in passion sparks a raging fire that can be unpredictable yet transform a community, company, country, or a world.

Without exploitation, the cultural movements that leaders, educators, politicians, business people, and the general public launch around a cause have the potential for bringing us closer together as a population with peace, harmony, purpose, and yes, maybe even profit as the bountiful side effects.

For anyone who wants to make a positive difference, modify purchasing habits, and move others to take action around a brand, Scott Goodson’s book, Uprising is the essential secret key to unlocking the treasure chest of movement marketing. Buy Uprising today and launch your movement tomorrow.

Around the world with the #1 YA radio program on the Voice America Kids Network, Express Yourself!™. Hosts Steven Zhou and Courntey Cheng travel across the big POND to interview London’s entrepreneur, Danny Tyler, who launched Tyler Tours with his brother for visitors to see an inside look at the city. They’ll continue across the Channel to France to meet global nomad, Saturn Range in Paris to learn about her gypsy lifestyle living in many cities and learning new cultures. Eric Pawlakos brings us a travel emergency app for our smart phones and Vivien Lee entertains with her comical customs travel segment, Say What?

Danny Tyler is a young businessman from London, UK, and set up his first venture from his bedroom at the age of 17, importing and distributing a wide selection of latex masks. MaskAttack.com is now well established worldwide as one of the leading online retailers of realistic latex masks. Alongside Danny’s passion for business is a desire for travelling. With this in mind, Danny saw a gap in the market for a company that offers easy travel to London, at a reasonable cost for young people aged 16-21. Developed with the help of his brother Barry, Tyler Tours offer adventure holidays to London, a vibrant and historic city, and a place that Danny and Barry know inside out. Tyler Tours is seen as a fantastic way to make new friends from all around the globe.

Saturn Renge was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Los Angeles California. She currently resides in Paris, France and attendsLycée Paul Valéry. Born under the influence of artistic parents, Saturn was encouraged to explore her creative talents and enjoys acting, singing, playing guitar, and recently decided to take up learning the drums. She looks forward to attending university in the future and aspires to someday live in a rainforest in Brazil. Visit her blog at saturnsrivers.tumblr.com/

For many years I have been working with and coaching young people in writing, acting, speaking, and life skills. As the editor of Teen Scene for the Lamorinda Weekly, I coach teens to help them get published. Steven Zhou is 17 years old and has been working with me consistently on many projects. He is the administrator and on-air host for our teen radio show, Express Yourself!™ which is the #1 most listened to YA program on the Voice America Network in the world (http://www.ExpressYourselfTeenRadio.com) He also designed our creative community web site at http://www.BTSYA.com where he serves as volunteer web master. He now has his own monthly column which I edit for Teen Scene. It’s worth reprinting. Enjoy!
Consider This: A Successful…Failure?
By Steven Zhou
Did you get accepted? What place did you win? Have you been awarded a scholarship?
When it comes to life, we all want to succeed. Competition seems to be the gas that fuels our teenage psyches. As I write this, I’m sitting on the floor at a public speaking tournament hoping to qualify for the State Championships. College acceptance letters are being delivered to friends and many are experiencing the joy of being “chosen”. A couple of days ago, our Express Yourself Teen Radio on-air team was notified that our program is the most listened to show throughout the entire world on the Voice America Kids Network. In only three months of broadcasting, we are ranked number one.
One might argue that success is the trophy from the tournament, the acceptance from the desired college, or the status of being the top radio program worldwide. However, these trophies and accolades can only last a maximum length of a lifetime. Miramonte senior, Lisa Chang, shared her valuable viewpoint. “Learn to find enjoyment even when you don’t end up on top. Those who are truly happy are those who love what they’re doing“. Instead of always trying to win, perhaps the loftier goal is to love the experience and make an impact on the world that survives after we’re gone.
High school years are comprised of competition, from coveted positions on sport teams to auditions for the starring roles in school plays, but at what cost? A friend of mine wrote a paper describing the negative effects of over-competitiveness, citing examples of students who get professionals to take the SAT for them, or athletes who use illegal substances to gain strength. When we examine the motives of someone who cheats to get an “A”, or a student driven to the point of suicide by the pressure of “not measuring up”, there would be little argument that their success equates failure.
Viktor Frankl, a Holocaust survivor and 20th century psychologist, wrote “success cannot be pursued, rather, it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one’s dedication to a cause greater than oneself”. While not a perfect definition of success, the quotation summarizes the lives of people who made a lasting impact through dedication to service such as Martin Luther King’s work with civil rights or Gandhi’s devotion to freedom. As teenagers, our true success could be measured with our efforts to make a positive difference.
As I wonder how to help Express Yourself Teen Radio continue to be number one, it dawns on me that success of the program is based on these questions: Are we providing a voice to teenagers around the globe and are we enjoying this adventure? How we influence and improve must be the reward. Otherwise, in our pursuit of the physical prize, we may just end up successfully failing.

Join Miramonte senior, Steven Zhou, at a live recording booth with the Express Yourself! Teen Radio team at the May 12 Moraga Fair offering Lamorindans an opportunity to express themselves. www.ExpressYourselfTeenRadio.com

Every 15 minutes someone commits suicide.

Suicide claims more than a million lives each year and leaves more than five million to mourn them. It knows no boundaries; not age, gender, color, race or nationality. Its victims are drawn by drugs, depression, disease, sexual confusion, bullying, peer pressures, feelings of desperation and immeasurable levels of inadequacy. The only way to thwart this unforgiving beast is to confront it by raising levels of awareness so that it is spoken about rather than looking the other way, fueling the veil of shame and secrecy that keeps it thriving and killing innocent people.
Talking about teen suicide and violence in youth is a necessity in order to stop it. Today our show focuses on these tough issues. Author Carl David is on a mission to save lives. His latest book, “Bader Field; How My Family Survived Suicide” (Nightengale Press) is the emotional story of our family’s struggle to survive after his older brother at age 22 took his life. Carl won 2nd place in the national Be the Star You Are!® Essay Contest with his entry about teen suicide.

The buzz of the honeybees fills the morning air as I walk out my backdoor. The pollinators are busy savoring the sweetness of the flowering peach tree in full bloom. I love the sight, smell, and sound, however, these botanical gifts have arrived thirty-three days earlier than the normal March 17th blossom burst. It wasn’t even Valentine’s Day when spring sprung chez moi. Driving through Lamorinda over President’s Day weekend, I stopped at three lemonade stands erected by entrepreneurial elementary school children. As much as I am a sun lover, without winter wetness our summer gardens may not yield.

I am amazed at how early my daffodils sprouted and bloomed. My jonquils flowered in early January and my first narcissus bloomed on February 6th. (Narcissus and daffodils are the same. Daffodil is the common name for the genus narcissus while a jonquil is a specific species with several strong scented yellow florets with rounded leaves.) Usually in March I am romping through the mustard fields, not tromping around the daffodils. Besides the ubiquitous yellow daffodil that decorates roadsides, my hillside bloomers delight me with their varied throat colorations, frills, ruffles, and petal markings. Depending on the expert, there are 40-200 different species, subspecies, and varieties of daffodils with thousands of hybrids. Unlike tulips, the deer, squirrels, and rodents won’t eat the bulbs or the blooms as they are poisonous to them. Easy to grow and tolerant of numerous weather conditions, daffodils can be planted in the sun, shade, and drifts for naturalization. Daffodils are the true trumpets of the vernal equinox.

Spring is about looking forward and this year, we are leaping. We have bypassed the dark days of dormancy and are marching straight into the season of spring. We don’t have to await for the emergence of our favorite flowering fruit trees or Easter hellebore as they are already parading their newest wardrobes. Our weather is changing and our garden zones are also evolving. Updating the 1990 Plant Hardiness Zone Map, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has just released the newest version of this handy garden tool. The new map was jointly developed by the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service (the chief intramural scientific research agency of the USDA) and Oregon State University’s PRISM Climate Group. This new 2012 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map is the standard in gardening to determine which plants will thrive in which locations. It’s based on the average annual minimum winter temperature, divided into ten degree Fahrenheit zones. Interestingly, most areas across the country are now rated at least a half a degree warmer. Lamorinda is rated in the 9B zone. The map is not yet available in printed form, but you can download it at the web site of http://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov.

With a possible drought in the works, as we contemplate our plantings, we must work with water-wise sensibilities. If you are considering installing a lawn or sod in March, you may want to plant a clover field or dicondra grass instead. The following drought-tolerant perennials are beautiful even in the hottest seasons and many have the added appeal of attracting butterflies, hummingbirds, and honeybees.

Of course, put daffodil bulbs on your fall want list as they are drought resistant and flourish in Lamorinda without disappointment. With so many colors available, there will be something for every gardener’s penchant. I am including a variety of photos of my different daffodils for your enjoyment. This St. Patrick’s Day, the flowering peach will have already finished its spectacular show, but the daffodils and shamrocks will continue to enchant. Savor the sunshine, leap up, and march on.
